May is a month of growth—a time when nature wakes up, colors brighten, and energy begins to shift. At Serenity House, it’s also a powerful time to remind our community that healing is possible, and that recovery, like spring, is a process of transformation. This month, we reflect on progress, raise awareness, and invite you to take action—whether you’re on a recovery journey yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply looking to learn more.
Ending Stigma, One Conversation at a Time
Stigma continues to be one of the biggest barriers to treatment. That’s why we’re committed to normalizing recovery, highlighting real stories, and reminding our community that addiction is a disease—not a moral failure. Through education, compassion, and transparency, we can make it easier for people to ask for help without fear or shame.
Our Programs at a Glance
Serenity House offers a full continuum of care for adults and adolescents, from extended residential treatment and recovery homes to intensive outpatient programs and DUI education services. Each program is designed to meet people where they are—and give them the tools they need to move forward. Whether someone is taking their first step or rebuilding their life after treatment, our holistic, community-centered model offers structure, support, and a sense of belonging.
Support That Doesn’t Stop
Recovery doesn’t end after a 30- or 90-day stay. We believe in surrounding every client with ongoing care, which includes:
SMART Recovery Meetings (in-person Wednesdays, virtual Saturdays)
Virtual Refuge Recovery Meetings (Saturdays)
Hybrid Veterans Support Group (Thursdays)
Job support, life skills development, and sober living structure
These services are open to the community, and they provide critical lifelines for those navigating early sobriety and life transitions.
Honoring Recovery Wins
May is also a time to celebrate victories—big and small. From getting through a tough day without using to landing a new job or reconnecting with family, recovery is made up of meaningful milestones. We highlight alumni success stories across our channels to inspire others and show what’s possible with the right support.
Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a perfect opportunity to talk about the strong connection between mental health and substance use. At Serenity House, we take a trauma-informed approach to treatment, understanding that behind many addictions is pain that hasn’t yet found a way to heal.
If you or someone you love is struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other mental health challenges alongside addiction, know that integrated treatment is not only available—it’s essential.
