Serenity House Counseling Response to COVID-19

The Serenity House Counseling Board and Leadership Team are dedicated to taking preventative measures to provide the safest conditions for our patients, staff, and community. We continue to collaborate with The Illinois Department of Public Health to provide constant updates and daily briefings to determine the best course of action.

Current measures being applied to enhance the safety of our facilities include:

Modified cleaning schedules with increased frequency and attention to areas maintained including handrails, door handles, and other high-touch areas.
Additional sanitizing stations through our buildings and recovery homes.
Visual symptom awareness signs throughout our campus and homes.
Verbal reminders to rigorously wash hands upon entering group or individual meetings, cough/sneeze into the elbow, refrain from physical contact with other patients, and more.
Reminders to our front line staff and counselors to please ask patients to wash hands and apply disinfectants to resident areas.

We communicate this information to our staff, clients, and visitors alike.

The safety and security of our patients and staff have always been our highest priority. We will continually monitor the situation and diligently take steps to maintain our facilities without putting the health, safety, and well-being of our patients, staff, volunteers, and community at risk.
