Serenity House’s new gym is underway to strengthen recovery for our clients. Old gym equipment is out and contractors are starting to build.
In 2018, a bright young man named Bud lost to his battle with addiction. His mother Jean has made it her mission to help stop the curse of substance abuse, becoming very involved in Serenity House and even trekking the Grand Canyon in efforts to raise funds for this gym, which will be named in his honor.
Jean has shared that “faith and fitness brought Bud hope and health.” We carry this positivity on with this renovated space and will be adding two additional rooms to develop a full wellness center thanks to the over $36,000 she received in donations.
We cannot wait to fortify the physical aspect of the substance abuse recovery we offer, which will enhance the emotional healing we’ve proudly provided for over 30 years to the local DuPage area and beyond.
Our projected completion time is Spring 2020—we’ll send updates as we progress!
