Risk Education Classes |

Required for
Minimal, Moderate, and Significant
Risk classifications.
|

Completion
of ten hours.
|
|
|
Must attend
four consecutive classes—Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to
noon.

|
TOPICS
DISCUSSED:
Physical and pharmacological characteristics of alcohol and
drugs, abuse and dependence symptoms, B.A.C. levels, DUI laws and
penalties, and the impact of alcohol/drugs on individuals and their
families.
|
|
Pass
post-test with a score of 75% or better. |
|
Receive a Certificate of Completion. |

| Intake |
|
Required
for Moderate, Significant,
and High Risk classifications. |

PURPOSE:
An
initial screening and assessment for admission into an appropriate
level of treatment. |
|
Clients
are informed of program's rules, guidelines, expectations, fees, patient's
rights, and laws of confidentiality. |
|
|
Together with
the counselor, the client will participate in the development of
a treatment plan (identifying problems, goals, and objectives to
be addressed in counseling).

| Moderate
Risk Group |
|
|
PURPOSE:
To
discuss personal experiences and issues that relate to the use of
alcohol/drugs and to help prevent any further alcohol related consequences.
|
|
Completion
of twelve hours of early intervention/group counseling. |
|
Groups
are two hours in duration. |

| Significant
Risk Group |
|
|
PURPOSE:
To discuss personal experiences and issues regarding the abuse of
alcohol/drugs and to identify changes needed to avoid abusing alcohol/drugs
in the future.
|
|
Completion
of twenty hours of outpatient treatment. |
|
Groups
are two hours in duration. |

| Continuing
Care—Significant Risk |
|
|
PURPOSE:
After
primary treatment, to monitor a client's progress regarding their
past abuse of alcohol /drugs.
|
|
|
Attend a two-hour
group once a month for six months (DuPage County Court Rule).

| High
Risk Group |
|
|
PURPOSE:
To discuss personal experiences and issues regarding their abuse
or dependency to alcohol/drugs and develop relapse prevention skills
to help avoid substance related problems.
|
|
|
Completion
of seventy-five hours of intensive outpatient treatment.
|
|
Groups are three hours in duration. |
|
Attendance—three
days per week (total of nine hours weekly). |

| Continuing
Care-High Risk |
|
|
PURPOSE:
After
primary treatment, to monitor a client's progress regarding their
maintenance program, relapse prevention and support group involvement.
|
|
|
Attend a two-hour
group twice per month for one year.
|

| If
relevant information about your substance use is discovered at any
point during your participation in risk education, early intervention,
or treatment, additional treatment or referrals for a higher level
of care may be given if necessary following an assessment. |

|
After completion
for Moderate, Significant, or High Risk classifications, you will
be given discharge paperwork that you will need for court and/or
Secretary of State hearings. Further evaluations may be required
for Secretary of State hearings.

scales are available for qualified clients. |
